8D Problem Solving is a method for investigating and solving problems. Related: QRQC, A3.

Purpose

By the end of this course, participants will have acquired the skills needed to apply the method step by step to prevent recurrence by conducting a thorough root cause analysis, establishing corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of the cause, and preventing the problem from occurring in similar processes and products.

Target group

The course is designed for staff involved in process coordination, management, team leadership, continuous improvement, and project teams, as well as those responsible for analyzing and resolving nonconformities in the following departments: quality, production, incoming inspection, shipping, logistics, supplier quality, customer quality, project quality planning, process quality, and maintenance.

Objectives

  • Understanding concepts related to problems, corrections, corrective actions, and recurrence
  • Establishing measures to ensure customer safety
  • Correctly applying effective root cause analysis methods to determine effective corrective actions
  • Preventing the recurrence of the problem and its occurrence in similar processes and products

For the company, the robust implementation of the 8D method will reduce costs associated with defects, waste, and customer complaints by preventing problems from reocurring.
