This document describes rules for categorizing data based on its sensitivity and restricting access to authorized individuals only.
Confidentiality refers to protecting information from unauthorized access or disclosure. Information classification is the structured method Operational Management Solutions use to assign sensitivity levels to data, ensuring appropriate safeguards are applied. The classification determines who can access the information including how it should be stored, transmitted and protected. Operational Management Solutions understands data to mean any documented information, regardless of form, that is received, processed, and transmitted internally or to other parties.
Data confidentiality classification rules
| Confidentiality category | Definition |
| Public | Information can be made available to interested party without any implication. There is no impact on company operations including customer. Labeling: Public| All rights reserved to Advanced Engineering and Management. |
| Internal | Information can be transferred only in internal (between processes, departments, employees) or shared with collaborators or customers. Unauthorized access can cause minor disruptions but there are no financial or competitive advantages loss. Customer is not impacted too. For customers: It is forbidden to transmit this file without the written consent of Operational Management Solutions. Labeling: Internal| All rights reserved. Distribution allowed within Operational Management Solutions and to interested parties. |
| Confidential | Sensitive business information that is intended only for a closed group. Unauthorized disclosure could negatively impact the company, customers and/ or other interested parties. Labeling: Confidential| All rights reserved. Distribution allowed only on a written consent of owning department. |
| Strictly Confidential | Information from this category applies to the most sensitive business information and requires permanent control by the information owner. The unauthorized disclosure could have a major impact on company or customer business, supplier or other interested parties. Labeling: Strictly confidential| All rights reserved. Distribution allowed only on a written consent of information owner. |
